5x7 inches, acrylic, collage, colored sand, and epoxy on canvas, 2008, by Jason Robert Bell.
Often times, when left to my own devices I will start with a take on my patron saint Frankenstein's Monster, Back in college we read the book in John Kimsey's Intro to Lit class. Hard to think that a 19 year old could have written such a great book. Anyway Kimsey talked about how the origin for the word Prodigy was another word for Monster. As a kid that was a bit too smart for his own good and did not fit in that has always made sense to me.

The title for this piece comes from another name for Jocasta, can't really explain why I think of Oedipus Rex's Mother/Wife, but the working title for the Piece was Bride of the Fireclown.
